Vision2learn Excellence in Tutoring Award 2004 - sponsored by NCFE

Online tutoring skills are a rare commodity in the education sector. Through online learning, tutors are actively embracing new challenges in teaching and training delivery, and driving significant and permanent changes in lifelong learning.

Online learning reaches out to those least likely to participate in developing themselves through traditional learning and the role of a tutor is hugely influential on the success of a learner in completing their learning objectives.

In recognition of this, and the benefits this brings for vision2learn, colleges and learners, we are launching our new annual award for Excellence in Online Tutoring.

The award, to be sponsored in 2004 by national awarding body NCFE, will be presented to the tutor who:

  • Has embraced online tutoring with enthusiasm
  • Through their enthusiasm, has encouraged and developed others to become online tutors
  • Has inspired their learners to achieve great success in completing their
    learning objectives
  • Has demonstrated outstanding skills and qualities in delivery of online

NCFE is particularly enthusiastic to sponsor the new Tutoring Award in recognition of the often unsung contribution made by tutors to the success of their students. With the continuing growth of online learning the awarding body feels it is essential to maintain and encourage the high levels of support provided by tutors to their online students.

The closing date for nominations is 31 August 2004, and the winner will be chosen by a panel consisting of Creating Careers and NCFE staff. Nominations will be accepted from college vision2learn managers and administrators, other tutors and learners.
