Opportunities for online tutors

Our college partners are currently looking for online tutors with experience in the following curriculum areas:

All potential tutors are required to hold or be working towards a recognized teaching or training qualification, have current or recent teaching or work experience relevant to the course or have a qualitifcation in the subject area at a level above that at which you are tutoring.

IT tutors
Levels 1 and 2 – good level of skills in general computing, databases, desktop publishing and spreadsheets is required so work experience as a computer operator or web designer is ideal. Typical qualifications required include A level (or equivalent) in IT, NVQ in using IT, HND in IT or similar.

Level 3 – knowledge of e-commerce, website development and networking is essential which can be demonstrated by work experience as a web designer, web server manager, systems engineer, network consultant or similar. Tutors would need to have an IT degree, Mircosoft or CISCO qualifications, foundation degree or HND in IT or other IT qualifications

Employment skills tutors
Levels 1 and 2 – good knowledge of personal development (teamwork, communication skills etc) gained through work experience as a careers advisor, personal advisor or human resources specialist, together with a qualification in careers, CIPD or similar.

Level 3 – good knowledge of personal development (as above) gained through work experience as a human resources specialist, personnel manager or working in the filed of organizational effectiveness. Tutors will have a qualification in management, Emotional Intelligence, NLP or CIPD.

Call centre skills tutors
Employment skills, personal development especially good telephone communication, knowledge of customer service and sales gained from relevant work experience in a call centre, ideally as a team leader. Tutors should have a level 2 or level 3 call centre skills qualification or equivalent.

Money management tutors
This level 1 course will require tutors to have basic experience or training in managing personal finances, mortgages, savings, loans and investment gained through working in finance, banking or insurance.

Sport and Leisure tutors
Knowledge, experience of sports coaching (any sport) including psychology and nutrition gained through teaching sport or working in a gym, health club or leisure centre. Qualifications could include a degree ro diploma in sport or a coaching award from a sports governing body. Many tutors also hold a Community Sports Leaders Award.

Entrepreneurship tutors
As this course covers the essentials for planning to start up and run your own business, experience in assisting and advising sole traders or small businesses (eg as a Business Link advisor) or running your own business is required
